Moen’s Mouse-Mix Farm Pack is the larger, stronger version of Moen’s Mouse-Mix, an all-natural rodent deterrent made with spices and oils instead of poisons or traps. It comes in a bucket and is meant for big spaces: barns, sheds, grain storage areas and stored farm equipment. This guide covers what’s in the pail, where it’s meant to be used, how to set it up, and how to tell whether it’s the right size for you.

What the Farm Pack is
The manufacturer describes the Farm Pack as a “kicked-up” formula with nearly twice the spices of its regular recipe, packed in a bucket that holds nearly a gallon of product. It’s designed for large buildings and outdoor storage areas rather than a single room.

Where farmers use it
The Farm Pack label lists these uses, and the MouseMix.us product page adds hunting shacks and pole barns:
- Barns and pole barns
- Sheds and outbuildings
- Grain storage areas
- Tack rooms and stables
- Tractors and combines in winter storage
- Hunting shacks and other seasonal buildings
The manufacturer says it’s especially meant for the winter storage of tractors, combines and other implements, to help keep mice and rats from chewing on expensive wiring and upholstery. For step-by-step prep for stored machinery, see keeping mice out of tractors and combines in winter storage.
How to set it up
The product works by scent, so the idea is to spread small vented bags around the space you want to protect:
- Divide the product into the application bags that come with it. About three-quarters full is fine.
- Poke small vent holes in each bag so the scent can escape. Follow the included directions for how many.
- Place the bags along walls, in corners and around the edge of the area, a few feet apart, following the spacing in the included directions.
- For machinery, put bags in the cab and around the engine compartment while it’s parked, and take them out before you start it.
From the label: keep out of reach of children, it’s not for human or animal consumption, and wash your hands after handling because it may irritate eyes and skin. Don’t place bags directly on finished wood floors, furniture or plastic, to avoid discoloration, damage or staining.
Is the Farm Pack the right size?
- Choose the Farm Pack for barns, pole barns, large sheds, grain storage, or more than one piece of stored equipment.
- Choose Regular Strength for a single problem area: an average basement, a 2-car garage, or a camper up to about 30 feet.
- Choose the Farm Pack 2-Pack if you’re treating several buildings or a full yard of equipment.
- Choose Critter Crumbs for gardens, lawns and landscaping outdoors.

What it won’t do
Mouse-Mix is a deterrent, not a poison or trap, so it doesn’t kill mice, and results depend on the building and how it’s applied. It works best alongside the basics: sealing gaps, storing grain and feed in tight containers, and cleaning up food sources. See CDC: How to Seal Up to Prevent Rodents for the sealing basics.
